Exceptional!! rare,Antique Circa 18-19th Century,Burma or Hindu Ava Shan Style Huge! carved gilded wood Buddha Statue with superb!! glass inlaid decoration all around.An impressive Burmese Shan Gilded Wood Buddha Statue seated on high stepped thin waisted two tiered pedestal with hand gesture in bhumisparsa mudra – “touching earth”. Thayo lacquer floral scrolls and glass mosaics decorate the throne and robe with a beautiful serene expression with eyes lowered, a slight smile and large rounded usnisha with a a long finial. Age related wear to the gilding and lacquer with amazing age patina.Very interesting piece from a important Oriental private collection.
Provenance:From the Estate of a Palm Beach,Fla. 93 years old Collector.
The piece measures approx. 38″ (97cm) Tall x approx. 16″ (41cm) Wide x approx. 14″ (36cm) in Depth.
